Mr. Ryan Edward Huie was born in Odessa, Texas in 1978. In 1986, his family
moved to the Texas Hill Country where his entrepreneurial father started a
financial services firm and his mother taught fourth grade at the local
elementary school. After graduating from Boerne High School, Ryan spent four
years at Texas Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree
in Public Relations and Marketing.
Ryan received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law
in Houston, Texas in 2004. While there, he played an active role in the
South Texas College of Law Legal Clinic where he conducted Divorce,
Guardianship and Social Security Disability proceedings for low-income
families. Ryan also clerked in the Appellate Division of the Harris County
District Attorney's Office where he answered Writs of Habeas Corpus for the
State of Texas.
Ryan previously served as Corporate Counsel for Mason Catastrophe Claims
Services in Boerne, Texas before taking an associate's position at Stibbs &
Co., P.C. law firm in the Woodlands, Texas, where he advised business
clients on matters ranging from corporate formation to multi-million dollar
mergers and acquisitions. Two years later, Ryan took an in-house counsel
position with Drillmar Oil & Gas, Inc., in downtown Houston. After spending
the 2009 ski season in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Ryan decided to join forces
with his esteemed friend and colleague, Stephenie McCoy, and formed McCoy &
Huie, PLLC.
In his spare time, Ryan can be found running and swimming with his boxer
dog, Harley. He also enjoys playing guitar and singing with the Wheeler
Brother Band on weekends, going to movies by himself, spending quality time
with his family in Boerne, and maintaining his title as "Uncle Fun" to all
his extended family's kids.
Mr. Huie is a member of the American Bar Association, Texas State Bar,
Travis County Bar Association, Williamson County Bar Association, Texas
Young Lawyers Association, Austin Young Lawyers Association, the Criminal
Law and Business Law Divisions of the Texas State Bar, and the Hill Country
Chapter of the Texas Tech Alumni Association.
